Boom Tic Boom is one of several jazz ensembles led by the prolific drummer Allison Miller. Boom Tic Boom has long included other notable musicians like pianist Myra Melford, violinist Jenny Scheinman, and bass player Todd Sickafoose – players who are comfortable with folk, Latin, and funk as well as jazz. So the band’s music often has a strong melodic sense as well as a knack for unexpected turns of phrase. Boom Tic Boom celebrated 10 years of playing together in their 2019 album Glitter Wolf. They play a four-night run at Smoke, March 21-24.
